Appraisal Assistant

The Appraisal Assistant supports the appraisal team by managing communication, coordinating appraisal orders, and ensuring all property valuation processes move efficiently. This role involves inbox monitoring, order tracking, and direct coordination with appraisers to maintain timely and accurate delivery of appraisal reports.Key Responsibilities Inbox Management• Monitor and manage the Appraisals Inbox and tagged emails to ensure timely follow-up and response. Appraisals List Management (SFDC)• Track appraisal orders that are pending. • Confirm whether disclosures have been signed. • Determine if each file is ready for appraisal ordering. Appraisal Ordering• Place orders for various loan types, including Conventional, FHA, VA, NQM, and Jumbo. Communication & Coordination• Send status updates to the appraisal team regarding ongoing orders. • Monitor the progress of current orders and ensure timelines are met. • Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to ongoing appraisal orders. • Call appraisers for rush orders. Property Valuation Support• Provide comparable sales (“comps”) upon request. Other Tasks• Perform other tasks as assigned. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise • 1–2 years of administrative or mortgage operations experience (appraisal or loan support preferred). • Familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC) or similar tracking systems. • Strong attention to detail and organization skills. • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills. • Proactive and responsive in communication. • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through. • Able to work independently and collaboratively with the appraisal team. • Reliable and consistent in meeting deadlines.
