Job Purpose The role of the HRIS Data Analyst is to support the administration, data integrity, and reporting capabilities of Paylocity, the company’s HRIS platform. This position works closely with HR Leadership, HR Business Partners, HR Operations, IT, Accounting, Communications, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate HR data, develop meaningful reports and dashboards, and streamline HR processes through system enhancements. A successful HRIS Data Analyst will provide data-driven insights to enable informed decision-making and process efficiency across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborates with HR and business partners to develop, maintain, and distribute standard and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics using tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Google Looker, and Microsoft Excel. • Pursues continuous improvement of HR metrics collection and reporting, including identifying and implementing new data sets to measure HR performance against business priorities. • Oversees the operation and maintenance of the HRIS to enable efficient processes, ensure data accuracy, and support compliance with applicable regulations. • Monitors the performance of HRIS tools and ensures optimal utilization of system features. • Identifies and implements enhanced functionality to the HRIS, managing system upgrades and acting as the company’s representative to Paylocity to launch new features, escalate issues, and advocate for business needs. • Stays apprised of HRIS trends and emerging technologies, proactively evaluating and proposing changes or upgrades based on evolving business requirements. • Troubleshoots system issues, manages user access requests, and provides frontline support to HR team members. • Delivers informal training and guidance to HR staff on HRIS usage and reporting tools. • Performs routine data audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of HR records. • Documents system processes, workflows, data definitions, and training materials to promote consistency and knowledge sharing across teams. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with HRIS, data management, or HR reporting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or other business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI). • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. Additional or Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with Paylocity. • Experience leading an HRIS implementation or migration project. • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and U.S. employment practices. Competencies • Analytical – Synthesizes and interprets HR data to provide actionable insights; leverages data visualization tools to communicate effectively with stakeholders. • Quality – Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency in maintaining HR data and producing reports. • Adaptability – Adjusts quickly to changes in systems, technology, and organizational needs; manages competing priorities effectively. • Communication – Clearly conveys technical concepts to non-technical audiences; maintains transparency and professionalism in stakeholder interactions. • Initiative – Takes ownership of system issues and continuous improvement opportunities; proactively recommends enhancements to improve data integrity and reporting. • Collaboration – Builds positive relationships across HR, IT, and Finance teams to ensure HRIS data supports overall business goals. • Work Conditions / Physical Requirements Primarily a home office environment. Remote setting with virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams or similar platforms. The ability to work after normal business hours, as needed, is required to support system updates or reporting deadlines. Ability to lift up to 15–20 pounds when handling office files or boxes.
