The Legal Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Practice Manager and legal supervisors with care, professionalism, and compassion. You will assist in the preparation and progress of Family Law matters while helping maintain efficient operations within the firm.
What You’ll Do
Legal & Document Support (Primary)
• Work closely with multiple legal supervisors to receive instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
• Perform all necessary pre‑preparation activities for legal matters.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and various forms of written communication.
• Manage files in line with PCC guidelines, including:
• Scanning, filing, and distributing incoming correspondence
• Recording and accurately disbursing outgoing correspondence
• Apply legal knowledge, particularly in (preferred) Australian Family Law.
• Assist in continuous improvement efforts within the firm.
Administrative Support
• Assist with general office administration including data entry, shared inbox handling, and calendar management.
• Support legal supervisors and the Practice Manager with daily administrative requirements.
• Carry out all additional duties listed within the Performance Indicators
Requirements
What You BringWe’re looking for someone who:
• Understanding of legal principles, Australian Family Law preferred
• At least three years’ experience in a similar legal administrative role
• Strong knowledge of legal, clerical, and administrative procedures such as filing and record keeping
• Experience with legal matter management software
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities and triage tasks effectively
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Problem‑solving and proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
• Flexibility, adaptability, and strong customer service orientation
• Ability to work autonomously while remaining team-oriented
